Payment Assist with Interest Calculator Page
National Tyres & Autocare tasked me with creating a new page to help their customer's calculate the interest that would pay on their credit and buy now pay later products.
The brand didn't have any such feature on their website previous to this, felt that it would add value to their customer base, allowing them to easily plan their payments.
Therefore a new page had to be planned, designed and developed.

Objectives
- Create an easy to use, accessible and responsive design feature.
- Research and investigate how competitors have handled this feature to come to a fully conclusive design.
- Sketch and prototype an effective design feature and page that can then be developed for the live website.
Initial Research

National Tyre's main competitor is Kwik Fit, another car and tyre servicing company which does very similar work. With this in mind I decided to firstly look at how they handled their interest calculator feature.
Upon research, I found that Kwik Fit's interest calculator feature was very basic and not particularly visually appealing. The aim of this design was to make it easy to use and be as accessible as possible, in order to cater to National's wide customer reach.
Kwick Fit's interest breakdown - a static table with no interactivity
After looking at Kwick Fit's design, I decided to view the feature form the perspective of a potential customer - What would I look for in this feature in order to make it easy to understand?
I decided that i would personally like an interactive widget that can be customised and personalised to the customer's needs.
Initial Widget Sketching & Prototyping

After deciding that an interactive widget inside of the webpage would be the most effective solution, I started to sketch and create a prototype of how it could look.
An initial sketch, followed by a higher level prototype sketch
When I had developed my prototype sketches, I then decided to create a high fidelity video mockup in order to show the client exactly how the widget could work in real life use.

Page Design & Prototyping
When a final widget design had been decided it was then time to design the rest of the interest calculator landing page. National had provided copy for sections that they would like to feature, which included -

- A short description of how it works.
- A table which helps to breakdown how a staggered payment works.
- FAQ section.
Final Page Design
When the prototype structure and layout of the design was approved by the client, the next and final stage was to create a final design, using the brand's colours and design cues that currently exist on their website.
The final design is a bright, colourful and most importantly easy to use payment assist page that allows potential customers to easily determine how much interest they will have to pay and for how long on delayed purchases.
